Train like a lifeguard and build confidence in the water! Spend a week with expert open-water lifeguards at Spring Lake, where you’ll develop essential lifesaving skills, including swimming and board rescues, boating safety, and first aid. You’ll also learn CPR and how to use an AED. Camp activities include open-water swimming, teamwork challenges, time on the inflatable Water Park, and a final friendly competition to put your skills to the test. Open to youth ages 10 to 14 at the time of participation. Participants must be comfortable swimming in both shallow and deep water without assistance or flotation devices. The cost is $280 for Sonoma County residents and $282 for out-of-county attendees. For more information, contact ParkPrograms@sonoma-county.org. Registration required. Camps will happen rain or shine but may be canceled during heavy rains, heavy smoke, or extreme temperatures. Accommodations will be made for visitors with disabilities upon advance request. Each child may be registered for only one Junior Guard Camp session this summer.
