The Lifeguard in Training (LGIT) Program is a hands-on leadership opportunity for youth ages 14 to 15 interested in becoming future lifeguards. Over four summer weeks, LGITs assist with Junior Guard Camp at Spring Lake, mentor younger campers, and develop lifesaving skills under the guidance of professional open-water lifeguards. In addition to camp, participants will have opportunities to train with and shadow active lifeguards throughout the summer. The program runs from February to August, beginning with an online application (February 1–March 1), followed by a Zoom interview, swim test (300 yards continuous swimming), and orientation on June 18. Participants gain valuable experience, leadership skills, and a strong foundation for future lifeguard certification and employment. Spots are limited to 10 participants—apply now!
