Detailed instructions will be sent by email before event.

Monte Rio Redwoods was recently acquired by Regional Parks and Sonoma County Open Space. This 515-acre property along Dutch Bill Creek just south of Monte Rio is in the beginning stages of development. Its stunning quiet beauty will offer a unique opportunity for hiking, picnicking or mountain biking under shaded redwood, oak and riparian forests. Join park staff as we improve the park trails and forest health by removing invasive plants. For more information contact Michelle Karle at ParkPrograms@sonoma-county.org. Registration required.

We recommend participants dress in layers, wear comfortable, closed toed hiking shoes and bring a hat and sunscreen. A small pack is recommended so you can keep your hands free. We provide gloves, tools, snacks and drinks. Most programs will happen rain or shine, but may be canceled during heavy rains, heavy smoke, or extreme temperatures. Accommodations will be made for visitors with disabilities upon advance request. Parking fees are waived for volunteers.
