Follow the path of the mountain lion along roads and creekside trails.

Learn about the mountain lions that travel through Mark West (and many of our other parks) while walking along creekside trails. We’ll hike 3 to 3.5 miles round trip to check a wildlife camera and see who has been stopping by. Along the way we will discuss mountain lion behavior, mountain lion safety and the challenges mountain lions face in our county and what you can do to help. Please bring your own water and snacks. We recommend participants dress in layers and bring a hat and sunscreen. Most programs will happen rain or shine, but may be canceled during heavy rains, heavy smoke, or extreme temperatures. Accommodations will be made for visitors with disabilities upon advance request.
