Join Regional Parks as we tend to the native plants around the new Gathering Area at Tolay Lake Regional Park. Built in partnership with the Federated Indians of the Graton Rancheria, this new space is meant to support events at the park both large and small. Native plants are emphasized in the landscaping, however non-native species have started to encroach. Volunteers will work alongside park staff to remove these non-native plants. Regional Parks will provide all the necessary tools, supplies and gloves along with snacks and drinks. Volunteers should wear clothes they don’t mind getting dirty. The worksite is a short walk from the parking lot. Registration required.
We recommend participants dress in layers, wear comfortable, closed toe hiking shoes and bring a hat and sunscreen. Most programs will happen rain or shine, but may be canceled during heavy rains, heavy smoke, or extreme temperatures. Accommodations will be made for visitors with disabilities upon advance request. Parking fees are waived for volunteers. For more information, contact ParkPrograms@sonomacounty.gov.
