Build confidence in and around the water while learning essential lifesaving skills! This beginner-friendly camp is designed for new swimmers who want to feel more comfortable in open water. Spend the week with expert open-water lifeguards at Spring Lake, where you’ll practice basic swimming and lifeguarding techniques, including tube rescues, boating safety, and first aid. You’ll also learn CPR and how to use an AED. Camp activities include swimming, time on the inflatable Water Park, and a final friendly competition to showcase your new skills. Open to youth ages 10 to 14 at the time of participation. Participants should be comfortable in shallow water but do not need prior swimming experience. The cost is $280 for Sonoma County residents and $282 for out-of-county attendees. For more information, contact ParkPrograms@sonoma-county.org. Registration required. Camps will happen rain or shine but may be canceled during heavy rains, heavy smoke, or extreme temperatures. Accommodations will be made for visitors with disabilities upon advance request. Each child may be registered for only one Junior Guard Camp session this summer.
