Who lived here before us? What influences have past practices had on our current landscapes? Culture is alive, thriving and ever changing. Join us for these talks that examine the people and personalities of Sonoma County, their stories and how their lives are tied to our most loved parks. Uncover the cultural history of Doran Beach and Bodega Bay as we begin to unravel what the landscape looked like prior to becoming a park. Come out for a morning of history and learn about the Spanish settlement, historical communities, and Sonoma County’s long standing ranching roots. People of all ages welcome. For more information, contact Ellie Muelrath at communityengagementprograms@sonoma-county.org. Registration required.

Please bring your own water and snacks. We recommend participants dress in layers and bring a hat and sunscreen. Most programs will happen rain or shine, but may be canceled during heavy rains, heavy smoke, or extreme temperatures. Accommodations will be made for visitors with disabilities upon advance request. Parking is $7 or free with a Regional Parks membership.
