Monte Rio Redwoods was recently acquired by Regional Parks and Sonoma County Open Space. This 515-acre property along Dutch Bill Creek just south of Monte Rio is in the beginning stages of development. Its stunning quiet beauty will offer a unique opportunity for hiking, picnicking or mountain biking under shaded redwood, oak and riparian forests. Join park staff as we work on the park trails. For more information contact John Ryan at communityengagementprograms@sonoma-county.org. Registration required.

We recommend participants dress in layers, wear comfortable, closed toed hike shoes and bring a hat, sunscreen and water bottle. Most programs will happen rain or shine, but may be canceled during heavy rains, heavy smoke, or extreme temperatures. Accommodations will be made for visitors with disabilities upon advance request. Parking fees are waived for volunteers.
