Let’s beautify the landscape and help native plants thrive.

Program Location:

Helen Putnam Regional Park

Meeting Place:

Windsor Drive Trailhead Parking Lot

Native plants beautify the park landscape and encourage us to appreciate the cultural and environmental significance of native plant communities. We’ll get hands-on and dirty removing the weeds that can take over the landscape, displacing native plants. Tools, gloves, materials, and refreshments provided. Registration required.

We recommend participants dress in layers, wear comfortable, closed toe hiking shoes and bring a hat and sunscreen. Most programs will happen rain or shine, but may be canceled during heavy rains, heavy smoke, or extreme temperatures. Ages 13 and under require a parent or guardian present. Ages 14–17 may participate independently with a signed permission slip (email to request permission slip). Please let us know ahead of time if you have accessibility needs so we can best support your experience. Parking fees are waived for volunteers.
