Homemade Lava Lamps! Make a colorful, bubbling lava lamp with everyday household materials. Investigate liquid density and chemical bonds in this groovy science experiment.

Bring your junior scientists over to the Environmental Discovery Center to enjoy a kids-only, interactive science hour. Make a colorful, bubbling lava lamp with everyday household materials. Experiment with liquid density, chemical bonds, acids and bases in this groovy science experiment. Adults can head out into Spring Lake Park to enjoy rejuvenating, kid-free time in nature! Sign up for one or more. Activities are ideal for kids ages 6-12. The cost is $10 for in-county residents and $12 for out-of-county attendees. Please bring your own water and snacks. We recommend participants dress in layers and bring a hat and sunscreen. Most programs will happen rain or shine, but may be canceled during heavy rains, heavy smoke, or extreme temperatures. Accommodations will be made for visitors with disabilities upon advance request. Parking is $7 or free with a Regional Parks membership.
