Step back in time and explore the rich history of western Sonoma County's Watson School during our open house. Built in 1856, this one-room schoolhouse served as a vital community hub for over a century until its closure in the late 1960s. Normally closed to the public, the school's interior will be open to the public between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The park offers accessible paths of travel, picnic tables and even a portable restroom for the convenience of our visitors. Parking is limited. For more information contact Ellie Muelrath at communityengagementprgrams@sonoma-county.org
Please bring your own water and snacks. We recommend participants dress in layers and bring a hat and sunscreen. Most programs will happen rain or shine, but may be canceled during heavy rains, heavy smoke, or extreme temperatures. Accommodations will be made for visitors with disabilities upon advance request.
